地处桂东山区的岑溪县,是广西粮食高产县之一,也是1993年全区农村经济十强县之一。岑溪农业的丰收(全年连续八年丰收,早造连续13年增产)是与农机的作用分不开的。目前,全县农机总动力已达8.65万千瓦,每年机耕面积都占可耕面积的80％以上。岑溪县农机事业的发展,是与县农机局长刘统强同志分不开的,人们夸他是岑溪农机事业发展的领头雁。他带领全县农机战线全体职工,大胆改革,务实求新,坚持“以农为主、综合经营”的服务方针,从狠抓机耕服务农业入手,到开展“一条龙”综合经营服务,走出了一条岑溪农机社会化服务的新路子。县农机服务公司产值从0发展到现在的1000多万元,在1992年获得自治区组织的“铁牛杯”竞赛先进单位奖,1991年获梧州地区第二名奖,1992、1993年获地区一等奖。刘统强同志于1992年获自治区农机管理先进领导工作者奖,并多次荣获县优秀干部或先进党员奖。
