1夏衍(1900—1995)出生于杭州。6岁那年,母亲送他进了私塾,摇头晃脑地诵读《三字经》《论语》等国学经典。1914年,夏衍从德清县立高等小学毕业取得了第二名的好成绩,但因家境日渐贫困,他瞒着母亲进泰兴染坊当了一名学徒。在染坊,夏衍聪明伶俐,又受过良好教育,不久就被保送到浙江甲种工业学校读书。受俄国十月革命影响,夏衍开始接触《时事新报》《新青年》《解放与改造》等报
1 Xia Yan (1900-1995) was born in Hangzhou. At the age of 6, my mother sent him to a private school and read with dauntless brainstorming on the Guoxue Classics such as The Three Character Classic and Analects of Confucius. In 1914, Xia Yan graduated from Deqing County Primary School and achieved second place. However, due to the increasing poverty in his family, he became an apprentice without telling his mother into Taixing Dye Square. In the dye workshop, Xia Yan clever, but also well-educated, and soon was escorted to Zhejiang A Industrial School. Influenced by the October Revolution in Russia, Xia Yan started to contact newspapers such as “Current Affairs Daily News”, “New Youth” and “Liberation and Reform.”
