越剧《西厢记》是根据元人王实甫的杂剧《西厢记》改编而成,对原剧思想艺术主题的理解与把握决定了改编剧的基调。而改编剧的节奏是否紧凑、矛盾冲突是否集中、语言是否优美、结构是否严谨,是衡量改编剧成功与否的关键。本文选取新、旧两版《西厢记》进行比较,探讨了两版《西厢记》各自的艺术特点,两版《西厢记》对王实甫《西厢记》语言、剧情和塑造红娘形象等方面的改编。
The drama “The Romance of West Chamber” is based on the adaptation of Wang Shih-fu’s “The Romance of the West Chamber”. The understanding and control over the theme of the original drama’s ideological art determines the tone of the adaptation of the drama. Whether the rhythm of the adaptation plays is compact or not, whether the contradictions and conflicts are concentrated, whether the language is graceful or not, and whether the structure is rigorous is the key to measuring the success of the adaptation. This article chooses the two versions of “The Romance of the West Chamber” for comparison. It discusses the artistic features of the two editions of “The West Chamber” and the adaptation of the two editions of The Romance of the West Chamber to Wang Shih’s “The Romance of the West Chamber” language, the plot and the image of the matchmaker.
