今年5月我已满七十周岁。回顾过去主要的经历,简括地写成生平事略,发表出来,以就教和告慰于关心和悬念我的一些亲朋好友和图书馆界的同行们,兹自述如下:我曾用名丁铸铁,笔名管一丁。原籍江苏徐州.1919年5月12日生在山东滕县一个商人家庭里。我在滕县上完小学,1932年考入天津南开中学。1937年“七七事变”后,转入重庆南渝中学(后亦改为南开中学)读高三年级。1938年5月于毕业前我加入了中国共产党,开始参加革命工作。早年投身于抗日战争,中学毕业后即奔赴陕北“抗大”学习和工作。后在山东八路军担任文艺宣传领导工作,并从事文艺创作(著作有当时经常演出的大量戏剧、诗歌等,但文稿大都在战争中散失殆尽)。抗日战争胜利后,我被山东党组织派入徐州市做党的秘密工作,职业掩护为高中英文教师兼级任。解放后任校长。1950—1954年任山东省文联秘
