C_4 plants account for a small fraction of the total number of plants (less than 1,000 of 250,000), while a large proportion of weeds in the world have C_4 metabolic pathways. We included 2000 of the 500 families of flowering plants of 125 families in the WSSA weed comprehensive list, of which 146 plants in 53 genera of 10 families showed the integrated characteristics of C 4 metabolic pathways, which was higher than that of C 4 plants in the total number of plants Accounting for 17 times the proportion of large.
