知识分子在中国电影创作的初期就出现在银幕上。在20世纪上半叶出现了三次塑造知识分子形象的浪潮,分别是20年代初期到20年代中期、30年代初期到30年代中期、40年代中期以后。中国早期电影中的知识分子形象,并非简单的知识分子现实状况的视觉再现,而是在各种权力的影响、制约下文化想象的产物。通过这一银幕形象的历史演变,我们既能看到时代主题的转变,又能洞悉到电影艺术自身的发展,更能深切感受到中国电影人对中华民族历史命运的关切、思考和希冀。
Intellectuals appeared on the screen in the early days of Chinese filmmaking. In the first half of the 20th century, three waves of shaping the image of intellectuals appeared, ranging from the early 1920s to the mid-1920s, the early 30s, the mid-30s, and the mid-40s respectively. The image of intellectuals in early Chinese films is not a visual representation of the actual status of intellectuals but rather the product of cultural imagination under the influence of various powers. Through the historical evolution of the screen image, we can not only see the change of the theme of the times but also understand the development of film and movie itself. We can also deeply feel the concern, reflection and hope of Chinese filmmakers over the historical fate of the Chinese nation.
