Plus Medical Journal, Vol. 16, No. 16 (1980) reports that John Maurice sent a message from Brighton: Dr Jean-Paul Adenis, from the Department of Ophthalmology at the University Medical Center at Lymegulls Speaking at the European ophthalmology conference here, large doses of certain antibiotics can cause severe damage to corneal endothelial cells. After different doses of ceftazidime and ampicillin were injected into the anterior chamber or vitreous of rabbits for 3 hours, corneal endothelial cells were observed under scanning electron microscope. However, if ampicillin is infused into the eye, it does not cause any damage even if it is contained in a quantity up to 0.1 ml and contains 10 mg in solution. Gentamycin at 0.4 ~ 0.8 mg / 0.1 ml dose will not cause damage to a dose of 2 to 4
