In the era of economic globalization, the economic crisis triggered by the U.S. subprime mortgage crisis has affected many countries and regions in the world, especially in the developed western countries, and has profoundly affected major economic sectors and people’s livelihood. In our real life, we have also felt the tremendous impact of the crisis on the financial industry and certain foreign-related industries. Undoubtedly, the crisis is expanding, and it is moving to a broader breadth and deeper level. So how long will the crisis last? What economic sectors will be affected? And what impact will it have on each individual’s life? And what impact will it have on the lives of individuals? What kind of impact will our country have on the social and political life? What changes have taken place in the world system and in the international relations? What kind of economic measures will the countries in the world take? And so on, all of which are matters of great concern to us at the moment. In response to the current situation, we have invited experts from related fields to reflect on the great economic crisis of 1929 and hope that we can gain some experience and inspiration from that crisis as the basis for observing today’s crisis. From the reasons for that crisis, these experts conducted a series of studies on the chain reaction caused by the major capitalist countries in the world, from the crisis in the financial industry to the impact on various economic sectors and the crackdown on the indicators of world economic development The impact of the crisis on the then social and political life of the countries and the pattern of the world as a whole was also analyzed. In addition, scholars also described the tremendous economic policy adjustments made by the capitalist countries and the emergence of the world’s famous new economic theory. In sum, they outline to us the changes in the history of the entire world caused by that crisis and the resulting disasters and social progress.
