According to the American Diabetes Association (ADA), there are more than 200,000 cases of pregnancy-induced diabetes in the United States each year, accounting for about 7% of the total number of pregnant women. In some populations, the incidence may be 1% or even up to 14%. Among these patients, 90% had no history of diabetes before pregnancy and 10% had type 1 or type 2 diabetes. The report from the CDC points out that in the United States, there are about 1.85 million women aged 18-44 years with diabetes each year, and about 500,000 patients are not diagnosed.
