Julius Stone: Life and Academics Julius Stone (1907 ~ 1985) has worked hard in both jurisprudence and international law fields with outstanding achievements. He enjoys great prestige in Western law circles. In the field of jurisprudence, Stone’s fame as ”the scope and function of law“ has been repeatedly reprinted, resulting in a wide range of effects. He later extended it to his famous trilogy: ”Legal System and Jurist Reasoning,“ ”Human Law and Human Justice,“ and ”The Social Dimension of Law and Justice.“ Stone was generally classified as a comprehensive law initiated by Hall, the American jurist. According to Stone, ”according to current assumptions, jurisprudence is best seen as extraversion of jurists.
