Objective: To investigate the effects of subacute cold exposure on the metabolism of trace elements in the body. Methods: Forty-eight male Sprague-Dawley rats were placed in 1 ± 1 ℃ automatic temperature-controlled cold storage room for 1 week and 2 weeks of cold exposure. The effects of cold exposure at different time on the content of zinc, copper, serum malondialdehyde (MDA) and the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) in rats were observed. Results: After cold exposure, Zn in rat liver and skeletal muscle increased significantly (P <0.01), serum SOD activity decreased significantly (P <0.01), and skeletal muscle SOD increased significantly (P <0. 0 5). After 2 weeks of cold exposure, MDA was significantly increased (P <0. 05), skeletal muscle Cu decreased significantly (P <0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Subacute cold exposure can change the metabolism of Zn and Cu and the activity of SOD in rats. The mechanism needs to be explored.
