治思想史者,多半有翻案癖,希望在自己的笔下为某一个思想人物洗出一段清白,或是为某一类思想事件洗出一段光彩。我自进入思想史这一行当,始终有一个古怪的寻踪癖,想寻找一群还活着的人,二十年前他们有过一段思想踪迹,似可载入当代大陆思想史。我曾希望这群人能站着进入思想史,或许能改变一下思想史上都是一些横躺着的先逝者的沉闷格局。有一段时间,我甚至感觉自己之所以进入思想
Most of the people who rule the history of thought have the tendency of overturning the case, hoping to wash out some innocent people for a certain ideological figure in their own writing or to wash out some luster for some kinds of ideological events. Since entering the history of intellectual history, I have always had a quirky tracing wanderer looking for a group of still-living people.
