Introduction This paper presents the theoretical models, basic principles, writing standards and word-formation functions of Igor Mel’cuk’s “Thesaurus” (hereinafter referred to as “Thesaurus”). At the end of this article, we try out a Chinese term using this formal theorist theory. Mel’cuk is a former Soviet linguist.
