More than fifty years, the Research Group of Blood Stasis Syndrome (BSS) in Xiyuan Hospital,China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences have made a systematic clinical progress on BBS research.This paper would like to introduce its brief history, contributions, formation of academic school of thoughts, the three schools of learning lineage,the uniformity of this syndrome nomenclature, BBS differentiative diagnosis and its criteria, clinical progress on ten classifications with BBS, innovation of BBS theories, the representative formulae for treating BBS patients especially applying activating blood stasis formulas for treating coronary heart disease including for the prevention of post-stenting patients and the mechanisms.
