本文系《世界电影史导论》(《FilmHistory:AnIntroduction》)一书的结语部分,题目为译者所加。《世界电影史导论》于1994年由美国麦格罗-希尔公司(Mc-Graw-Hill,Inc.)出版发行。中文译本将由译者翻译,由北京大学出版社出版。作者克里斯琴·汤普森(KristinThompson)和戴卫·波德维尔(DavidBordwell)均为电影学博士,美国威斯康星大学传播艺术系资深教授。本文结合《世界电影史》的著述及作者对电影史研究的心得体会,深入分析论述了他们在著作中力图一以贯之的电影史构架与叙述的三条原则———电影语言如何产生、演变并逐渐成熟和规范化?电影的制作、发行与演映等如何影响电影的发展?电影艺术的世界性潮流与电影市场的国际化趋势是如何出现的?作者依据这些原则对世界电影的百年发展历程进行了宏观的审视与总结。这些问题的探究无疑对我们的电影史研究与写作具有重要的方法论意义。
This article is the concluding part of “Film History: An Introduction”, titled “Translator”. The Introduction to World Film History was published by the American company Mc-Graw-Hill, Inc. in 1994. The Chinese translation will be translated by the translator and published by Peking University Press. Authors Kristin Thompson and David Bedwell are Ph.D. in film science and are senior professors in communication arts at the University of Wisconsin. Combining with the writing of “World Cinema History” and the author’s experience in the study of cinema history, this article analyzes and discusses in depth three principles of how the cinematic structure of film history and narration in his works are created, evolved and gradually matured How can the production, distribution and presentation of films affect the development of the film? How does the world trend of film art and the international trend of the film market appear? According to these principles, the author has conducted a macroscopic view of the century-long development of world cinema Review and conclusion. The exploration of these questions undoubtedly has an important methodological significance for the study and writing of movie history.
