[Objective] To study the health education intervention and its effect of gay male homosexual population through non-governmental organizations and to explore the establishment of an intervention model aimed at preventing high-risk behaviors of AIDS among MSM. [Methods] Through non-governmental organizations (NGOs), a group participatory peer education approach was conducted to prevent and treat 101 gay male homosexuals and to prevent HIV / AIDS. The interventions were conducted before (September 2006) (August 2007) AIDS knowledge, attitudes and beliefs and behavior changes to assess the effectiveness of the intervention model. [Results] The adoption of group participatory peer education by non-government organizations had a significant effect on raising the knowledge level of AIDS prevention and changing the high-risk behavior of 101 gay men. [Conclusions] Participatory peer education through non-governmental organization group can effectively improve MSM’s cognitive level of AIDS knowledge and correspondingly change its high-risk behavior, but there is a phenomenon of separation of cognition and behavior, and it is important to enhance the promotion of safe behavior Problem, at the same time condom promotion also needs humane measures.
