维生素C的基本功能是予防坏血病。美国国家食物营养局和美国科学院最近建议膳食供给量成人每日45 mg,这对正常人可以予防坏血病的发生。但是,对于较大的摄入量是否能够改善健康状况和抵抗疾病是仍在争论的问题。使人有兴趣的是增加为胶元合成所必需的抗坏血酸的摄入量对于形成保护性的肿瘤被膜是必需的。抗坏血酸分子(或其一部分)肯定是对与恶性肿瘤入侵有关的溶酶体糖苷酶起到反馈性抑制作用。
The basic function of vitamin C is to prevent scurvy. The U.S. National Food and Nutrition Administration and the American Academy of Sciences recently recommended a daily dietary supplement of 45 mg for adults, which may prevent the onset of scurvy in normal individuals. However, the question of whether greater intake can improve health and fight disease is still a matter of debate. It is interesting to note that increasing the intake of ascorbic acid necessary for the synthesis of collagen cells is essential for the formation of a protective tumor capsule. Ascorbate molecules (or portions thereof) are certainly feedback-inhibiting of lysosomal glycosidases associated with the invasion of malignant tumors.
