Objective To observe the effect of dexmedetomidine on the awakening quality of pediatric general anesthesia during induction period. Methods Forty-eight children with general anesthesia for tracheal intubation were selected as study subjects and randomly divided into observation group and control group with 24 cases in each group. The control group was treated routinely. The observation group was treated with dexmedetomidine on the basis of the control group. The MAP and HR indexes, restlessness score and CHPPS score of the two groups were observed. Results The MAP in the observation group was higher than that in the control group at T2 and T4 (P <0.05), and the HR in the observation group at T4 was lower than that in the control group (P <0.05). At other time points, there was no significant difference between the two groups > 0.05). The agitation score and CHPPS score in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P <0.01). Conclusion To reduce the incidence of agitation and improve the quality of recovery, it is suggested that dexmedetomidine should be used in the induction of general anesthesia in children.
