两汉之际,佛教沿丝绸之路从西域传入中原,在佛教传译过程中产生了早期的汉译佛典。在早期的汉译佛典中,《四十二章经》无疑是最受争议的一部。关于其是否为最早的汉译佛典说法不一。文章从语言学角度入手,通过考察经文中的一些佛教术语词、普通词、连词、副词等使用情况,得出《四十二章经》并非佛教初传时所译经典,产生时间应在西晋竺法护之后东晋之前。
Han and Han dynasties, Buddhism along the Silk Road from the Western Regions into the Central Plains, Buddhism in the translation process produced an early Chinese translation of the Buddhist scriptures. In the early translation of Buddhist scriptures, “forty-two chapters of the” is undoubtedly the most controversial. There are different opinions as to whether it is the earliest translation of Buddhist scriptures. The article starts from the perspective of linguistics by examining the usage of some Buddhist terms, common words, conjunctions and adverbs in the scriptures and concludes that “The Forty-Two Chapters” is not a classic translated by Buddhism at the time of its first passage, and should be produced in the Western Jin Dynasty Zhu law protection after the Eastern Jin Dynasty.
