According to a recent report by Corporate Strategic Intelligence, the US market for optical fiber test equipment is estimated at about $ 105 million in 1991; it is expected to exceed $ 127 million in 1993 and to reach $ 158 million in 1995. The largest market for optical fiber test equipment in the United States is the optical time domain reflectometer, accounting for 45% of 1991, or $ 47 million; optical power meters accounting for 16% and $ 17 million; and spectrum analyzers accounting for 10% and $ 11 million. Some phone companies are the largest department buying optical time-domain reflectometers.
