As an essential part of news report,the sports news reporting concerns the latest sports information,consisting of sports events,the construction and revise of sports laws,the construction and utilization of sports facilities,the study and life of players and coaches and so on.Besides possessing general features of news report,it has its own distinctive lexical features.This paper aims at analyzing lexical features of English sports news in several aspects and try to help readers better understanding sports news,meanwhile,it gives some hints to the sports professionals.
