Studies have shown that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) in the serum of patients with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis can display abnormalities in biochemical metabolism before joint morphological changes, providing an early diagnosis The new idea, which can be used as an indicator of early joint cartilage damage and bone and joint disease acute degree of activity indicators. So as to irreversibly develop lesions before the prevention and control, reverse or delay the progression of the disease. COMP is a diagnostic and prognostic marker of arthritis disease progression and mitigation of potential biomarkers. This article reviews the role of cartilage oligomeric matrix proteins in arthritis.
