歌曲创作有着自己的特点和规律。它是为特定的歌词谱曲的。是专为人芦演唱写作的音乐作品。因此它必须充分表达歌词的意境和充分照顾人声的特点,同时还要受到歌词和具体人声的一定制约。它的音乐动机的写作和选撵,以及发展手法与其它器乐作品的写法有很大不同。不同民族、不同体裁的声乐作品又有自己独特的民族风格和手法。下面,我结合自己创作“马儿快快跑”这首歌曲的情况谈一谈。这首歌是我一九六三年和我团词作者张冠荣同志在凉山甘洛县普昌区深入生活时创作的。它表达的是凉山彝族赶马人运送山区土特声热情支援祖国社会主义建设的动人情景。我采用彝族山歌风写成,全曲分引子、主部、插句、中声部、尾声,也可说是带引子、间奏、尾声的三部曲式。为了塑造彝族赶马人的光彩形象我选用了如下音乐主题和音乐动机

I use Yi folk songs written, the whole song sub-introduction, the main department, insert sentence, in the voice, the end, it can be said that with a primer, interlude, the end of the trilogy.
