论述了亚稳定β钛合金Ti-15-3棒材的性能和显微组织的关系以及α相的不同形态对合金机械性能的影响。合金在固溶状态具有理想的冷加工特性,其压缩比大于2.0仍不出现裂纹。随着时效温度的升高,室温拉伸强度下降,塑性增加,但是,压缩极限强度和屈服强度出现相反趋势的变化。合金的时效强化效应主要取决于α相沉淀的形态和分布。随时效温度逐渐升高,析出的α相由细小密集的针状组织变为近似等轴组织,且愈来愈难以生成片状组织。630℃时效时,可以形成不连续晶界α层。
