Dongpu Sag is a low-level sub-depression in the southern part of the North China Basin. It was formed during the active period of Diwa stage (the end of Mesozoic). Early Triassic sedimentary deposits characterized by mudstone containing salt and gypsum and oil-bearing shale sandstone, Is a typical example of oil-bearing construction in the eastern part of China. Based on the comprehensive analysis of abundant fossils, trace fossils, sedimentology and geochemistry in the sag, it is believed that the area was dominated by continental deposition in the early Tertiary period and suffered a transient transgression which reflected Ding Dong Pu The sag is the tectonic setting of the offshore depression.
