可视化技术(交互性图形处理技术)是计算机技术近年来一个令人瞩目的发展,其渊源可追索到1962年美国麻省理工学院的SKETCHPAD系统(计算机辅助设计系统,CAD)。初期由于其费用昂贵,只有少数大公司才用得起。近年来图形处理技术发展极为迅速,从二维发展到三维,从线框模型发展到实体模型,实现了高度真实感的造型和实时动态显示。在工作站性能迅速提高的同时,其造价也在不断下降,尤其是价格更为低廉的微机的性能(包括其图形性能)正在迅猛提高。因此为广泛应用这项技术在硬件价格方面所受的制约已消除。国内许多工业部门已将CAD技术定为“九五”期间重点的推广技术。
Visualization technology (interactive graphics processing technology) is a remarkable development of computer technology in recent years. Its origins can be traced back to the 1962 Massachusetts Institute of Technology SKETCHPAD system (Computer Aided Design System, CAD). Due to its high cost in the early days, only a few large companies could afford it. In recent years, the development of graphics processing technology is extremely rapid, from two-dimensional to three-dimensional development from the wireframe model to the solid model, to achieve a highly realistic modeling and real-time dynamic display. While the performance of workstations is rapidly increasing, their cost is also declining. Especially the performance of the cheaper computers (including their graphics performance) is rapidly increasing. Therefore, the constraints on the widespread use of this technology in terms of hardware prices have been eliminated. Many domestic industrial departments have set CAD technology as the key promotion technology during the “95” period.
