’Self-degree song’ is derived from ’Han Yuan Yuan Ji Zan’, as the meaning of implicit music. To the Song Dynasty, in the creation of the word, its meaning is the combination of the two parts of the word and the song. However, the practice of Ci’s self-degree is actually from the Tang and the Five Dynasties, the Northern Song Dynasty and the Southern Song Dynasty, and the record is the most clear. In the meantime, some writers only made words and did not make music, and labeled a new alphanumeric name, which was called “homemade word.” This style was learned until the Ming Dynasty and especially in the early Qing Dynasty. Today, the two are often mixed together, all said ’self-degree song.’ Compared with the creative method of “taking the sound of words”, self-degree is undoubtedly a kind of breakthrough. According to the needs of emotional expression, the new words of self-made expand the creative space of words to a greater extent. A form of ’breakthrough’. But only the words that truly have the characteristics and charm of the word can be called self-made words or the modified self-degree song.
