Cytokines are involved in the regulation of a variety of hepatocyte functions. It is generally believed that the hepatocytes themselves are targets of various cytokines but not cytokines. To confirm whether hepatocytes have a role in the production of various regulatory factors, the authors analyzed human HepG2 hepatocarcinoma cells with a high degree of differentiation for culture, and determined the expression of various cytokine genes by reverse transcription.
