Facial paralysis is a common complication of childbirth, the incidence of about 0.5 ‰ live births, more than 90% of the four weeks after birth can be completely restored. The authors report a case of complete facial paralysis on the left side of a neonatoral forceps head injury. After 4 weeks of facial nerve recovery, neuronal function recovered completely after clinical observation and continuous neurophysiological examination (NEP). Mentioned in the article that some authors believe that severe facial nerve injury should be decompression or anastomosis within two weeks, but the author experience of facial paralysis due to birth trauma observed at least 5 weeks, no signs of recovery by NEP was surgery, this time does not affect the injury The nerves effectively recover.
