川东地区的长兴组生物礁、飞仙关组鲕滩及石炭系地层—构造复合圈闭气藏由于储集体储集条件优良,具有储量丰度高、产能高、勘探效益好的特点,在油气勘探中占有重要的地位,越来越受到勘探决策部门和研究人员的重视。近年来,针对非背斜油气藏的勘探作了大量探索性的研究,取得了丰富的成果,其中最为突出的是五百梯石炭系地层—构造复合圈闭气藏和渡口河飞仙关组鲕滩气藏。从气田个数上讲,盆地内探明储量达300×10~8m~3以上的气田共有四个,非背斜圈闭占两个(五百梯和沙坪场);从储量大小比较,非背斜圈闭占石炭系、土二叠统长兴组、下三叠统飞仙关组三层总储量的25.5%;就川东而言,非背斜圈闭占46.65%,可见是相当可观的。
