Large-scale textbooks store a large number of words without any use cases, these words are called “dead words.” There are two sources of “dead words”: one is the use of Chinese characters, and the other is the storage of Chinese characters. From the use of “dead words”, with the ancient books and archeology work carried out, some words will find direct use cases, some words can find indirect use cases in the handed down literature; derived from the storage area “dead word”, but Literary books in the process of compilation and editing of the resulting corruption, these “dead words” are not actually used to record the language, there is no mention of literature use cases. The compilation and revision of large-scale book should be noted that “activation” comes from the use of the word “dead”, out of the “dead” from the storage area, and try to avoid creating a new “dead word.”
