谷城县地处鄂西北山区,农村税费改革、村组合并后,现有251个村27个社区(街道)居委会。全县第五届村委会换届选举工作自2002年5月份开始试点,10月份全面铺开,历时半年,登记选民22.02万人.参选20.15万人,参选率达91.5％,选举产生村干部1050名,交叉任职521人,一次选举成功率达100％,圆满完成了换届选举工作。具体做法:
