(一)从临汾地区看渭北地区寻找富铁矿的可能性 1、构造位置临汾地区与渭北地区属祁吕贺山字型构造体系前孤东翼的一部分,同处于汾渭断陷之中,前者在东部,后者在西部,构造线方向为北北东-北东-北东东。临汾地区已知接触交代型铁矿各矿田的分布,均受霍山大断裂控制,它从北东向南西撒开,其撒开部分发育有次一级阶梯状断裂,其中相对隆起的构造部位,往往是矿田分布的地段,渭北地区与临汾地区相似,在北东向的蒲城-韩城大断裂的南侧,也有一系列的阶梯状断裂,构成次一级的凸起与断陷。据地震资料,该断裂不是一条单一的断裂,而是由一至几条断裂所组成,必然出现阶梯状的断块。但它们的排列方式,目前还研究得比较少,
