The history of oblivion (2009-12), a series of photographs taken by the Bulgarian photographer Nikola Mihov, traces the forgotten series of monuments of the Bulgarian Communist era [1] Share a lot of stories about these iconic Communist monuments. Although many such monuments have been dismantled after the 1989 regime change, more than 100 monuments constructed between 1945 and 1989 still exist. However, these works are not generally accepted by the community and the outlook is unknown. It’s even hard to find their authors and historical information. Based on the address information and other sources provided in these photographs, this article gives a brief introduction to the monuments of the Bulgarian socialist period.
