2005年6月1日,薄熙来针对中国与欧美纺织品问题说:“你给我们的企业加上半斤的压力, 我就要给它撤掉八两的负担。”一场纺织品贸易战一触即发。 2005年6月11日凌晨,中欧就纺织品贸易争端达成协议,签署了《中华人民共和国与欧盟委员会关于中国部分输欧纺织品备忘录》。中欧双方最终避免了一场可能的贸易战,对于中美之间如何解决贸易摩擦,包括即将于7月在北京举行的中美商贸联委会,也都具有借鉴意义。这是一场可以载入中国外贸史册的较量。
On June 1, 2005, Bo Xilai pointed out to China and Europe and the United States that the textile issue: “You give our company a half pound of pressure, and I will give it the burden of removing the two.” A textile trade war imminent . In the early morning of June 11, 2005, China and the EU reached an agreement on textile trade disputes and signed the “Memorandum of the People’s Republic of China and the European Commission on China’s Partial Transmission of Textiles to Europe.” China and the EU finally avoided a possible trade war. It also has implications for China and the United States on how to resolve trade frictions, including the Sino-US Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade to be held in Beijing in July. This is a contest that can be loaded into the history of China’s foreign trade.
