Infineon Technologies AG introduces the OptiMOS linear field-effect transistor family. This new product family combines the low on-resistance (RDS (on)) of trench power MOSFETs with the large safe operating area of planar MOSFETs. This solves the balance between RDS (on) and linear mode functionality. The OptiMOS linear field effect transistors operate in the saturation region of the enhancement mode MOSFETs. OptiMOS linear field effect transistors are best suited for hot-swappable, electronic fuses and protection applications found in telecommunications and battery management systems (BMS).
