德国著名作曲家贝多芬1827年逝世后,长久以来,人们对他的死因有患有梅毒的传说。后来,美国芝加哥健康研究所的科学家对其一根头发进行了为期四年的研究后发现,贝多芬并没有患梅毒,但头发中铅的含量却超过正常标准的100倍。虽然目前还不能肯定,贝多芬为人熟知的晚年耳聋是由于铅中毒造成的,但是,可以肯定的是贝多芬晚年多病、性格乖戾、常无缘无故发脾气以及脱发等等都是铅中毒造成的。
