In the history of ancient Chinese novels, the embroidery of novels does not always exist only as an aesthetic form. Under certain conditions, the existence of such images often has unique narrative function and value. If we start from the actual history of fiction and give consideration to both oral and written narrative styles, then the specific interventions made by embroidery on fictional narration include at least its participation in rap techniques, the construction of texts, the triggering and supporting of narratives This is a general reflection of the main ways in which the embroidery of ancient Chinese novels participate in the narrative. It is also an important breakthrough in our investigation of the intrinsic mechanism of the narration of images in ancient Chinese novels, focusing on the relationship between graphic and graphic materials and the content of illustrations.
