前言提高农业用水的水分生产率在缓解对水资源的竞争,防止环境退化,提供粮食安全方面起着重要的作用。这一结论的理由很简单:用较少的水生产更多的粮食,就可以有更多的水用于自然和人类其他用水需求。在水资源短缺的地方,提高水分生产率尤其重要。一个流域如果没有额外的水可以开发用于新的项目,那么,在干旱的或开发强度过大的流域越来越多的情况下,往往就会出现物质短缺。在这种情况下,供给农业的可用水水量会越来越少,为了维持农业生产,就需要提高水分生产率。
Preface Increasing the water productivity of agricultural water plays an important role in alleviating competition for water resources, preventing environmental degradation and providing food security. The rationale for this conclusion is simple: Producing more food with less water can make more water available to other natural and human needs. In areas where water is scarce, increasing water productivity is particularly important. A river basin with no additional water to develop for new projects often faces material shortages in an increasing number of droughts or underdeveloped watersheds. Under such circumstances, there will be less and less water available to agriculture and the need to increase water productivity in order to maintain agricultural production.
