Kiharu Kurokawa, who has been in the architectural business for nearly two decades, is one of the founders of the “Metabolic” campaign. He is famous for designing very compelling public buildings such as the Tokyo Zhongyin Cabin House and the Osaka Sony Building. Tadao Ando, who is seven years younger than he was, was a self-taught student during his stay in Europe and the United States. Since 1973, he has built more than two dozen small homes he claims to be a “minimum pie” style. Although their buildings have different styles and uses, they are all simple in shape and rigid, and they are similar to traditional Japanese wooden buildings.
