2004年教育部高教司正式颁布了《大学英语课程教学要求(试行)》。作为大学英语教学改革的一个指导性文件,它明确提出了大学英语的教学目标、课程的性质等,特别强调要提高学生的英语综合应用能力。这对高校英语教师提出了更高的要求和挑战。本文分析了在这种新形势下,广大英语教师应该如何应对挑战、提高教学水平,以便达到使英语教学服务于我国的全面发展和进步之目的。
In 2004, the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education formally promulgated the “Requirements for Teaching College English (Trial)”. As a guiding document for the reform of college English teaching, it clearly puts forward the goals of college English teaching, the nature of the curriculum, and so on, with particular emphasis on improving students’ comprehensive English application skills. This puts forward higher requirements and challenges for college English teachers. This article analyzes how the majority of English teachers should cope with the challenge and improve the teaching level under this new situation, so as to achieve the goal of making English teaching and services comprehensive development and progress in China.
