The first mammalian fossiliferous limestone cave in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is located on the western slope of the northern end of the Hengduan Mountains and on the slopes of the Ogun Gong in Dedeng District, Tibet. It is not easy to find fossils of ancient vertebrates on the vast Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, just like finding a needle in a haystack. From the legend that fossils were discovered a few years ago, a Tibetan youth worker named Banjiu, who is active in the geological team in Dendang, in eastern part of Tibet, recalls two stories often told by old people in his childhood: In the past, there were two large dragons and several small dragons in Zhu Rila (Tibetan meaning “Dragon’s Mountain”) in Oggygong, Tibet, where they died in the rain and died in the cave. Listen to the elderly say: ancient Tibetan hero called King Gesar, who led a mighty force hit here from Qinghai, the soldiers killed on the road and horses are buried in the cave
