一九七八年秋天,在南通市教育局和学校领导的支持帮助下,我开始了为期五年的小学语文教学改革的第一轮实验。当时,一无资料、方案,二无理论指导,面对各种困难和压力,紧紧依靠领导的远见卓识和胆略,凭着自己对事业的一颗赤诚之心,迈开了探索的第一步。此后,抓紧各种机会争取专家学者的指导帮助,坚持在实践中摸索,实践一段,总结一次。通过总结努力上升到理论,掌握规律,而后继续实践。实验课题从朦胧到清晰,实验方案随着认识逐渐完善,--《从整体出发,着眼儿童发展》是在实验第四年才明确提出的。

The experimental subjects ranged from being flawless to clear, and the experimental programs gradually improved with their understanding. The “Starting from the Whole, Focusing on the Development of Children” was clearly put forward in the fourth year of the experiment.
