The remaining sediments in China’s shelf cover an area of 382,600 km2, accounting for 30.1% of the total area of the shelf. The most widely distributed residual sediments are coastal bank residual sand, and a few other river facies, lacustrine facies, deltaic facies, And paleosol etc. The age of the residual sand is generally 15000-7500 years ago.The existence of residual sediment depends on the imbalance of the sea surface lift and the modern sedimentation. The remaining large sedimentary area of the continental shelf in China has 11 areas with The pattern of sea water flow is closely related and can be divided into four categories: 1. The residual sediments of the continental shelf; 2. The residual sediments of the bay; 3. The residual sediments of the strait; 4. The residual sediments outside the estuary.
