小山水电站大坝上游挡汛围堰为壤土心墙土石围堰，于１９９４ 年１１ 月２４ 日实现导截流后进行冬季施工，至１９９５ 年６ 月中旬填至设计高程，经历了１９９５ 年大汛期超５ 年一遇标准洪水考验，安全渡过汛期。
Xiaoshan Hydropower Station dam upstream cofferdam for the loess loam core earth and rock cofferdam, in November 24, 1994 after the implementation of diversion and closure of winter construction, to mid-June 1995 to fill the design elevation, experienced a flood season in 1995 5-year standard flood test, safely through the flood season.
