Objective To investigate the role of IFN-γ, IL-4 and IL-10 in the pathogenesis of Kawasaki disease (KD). Methods A case-control study was conducted to determine the plasma concentrations of IFN-γ, IL-4 and IL-4 before and after intravenous injection of IVIG in 45 children with acute KD using double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) -10 protein concentration and 25 cases of normal age control group differences. Results The plasma levels of IFN-γ, IL-4 and IL-10 in children with KD at acute stage were significantly higher than those in control group (P <0.01). After IVIG treatment, the levels of these indicators were significantly decreased Significance (P <0.05). Conclusion IFN-γ, IL-4 and IL-10 may participate in the autoimmune tolerance process of KD by modulating the cytokine mechanism of T cell activation.
