This article describes a study conducted by Bayer MaterialScience in the United States to address the issue of energy conservation in existing buildings with small slopes in the United States, as well as its methods and results. The main contents of this study include: using polyisocyanurate sheet material as thermal insulation material, change the small slope roof of the existing building regularly every 20 to 30 years, and select the different provided by the US Department of Energy (DOE) Climate models of 10 buildings, the use of EnergyPlus software for small gradient roof energy saving efficiency and environmental impact analysis. This concludes the conclusion that such a roofing retrofit will have huge economic benefits and will significantly reduce the greenhouse gas emissions associated with building heating and cooling.
