Driven eastbound from the religious holy city of Jerusalem, the terrain dropped sharply. The car hovering in the ocher yellow barren hills Gobi, the more forward, the greater the pressure on the eardrums, buzzing, and the feeling of landing some similar aircraft. Across the window, I saw few people walking along the road. Occasionally I saw some tents and flocks of Bedouin entering into the barren wilderness. Beside a steeply sloped hillside, there stood an imposing stone tablet with the words “sea level” in several languages. In the short span of tens of kilometers, we have dropped over 800 meters to the sea level. Keep moving, the car has been driving below sea level. Soon, the car pierced the mountains, folded south, the immediate suddenly see, we started along the west coast of the Dead Sea.
