许昌职业技术学院是经河南省人民政府批准、国家教育部备案的一所公办全日制普通高等专科学校。学院有现代化的教学大楼、实验大楼,80多个实验室,有专用的校内实习工厂及多个校外实习基地;拥有先进的电教室、语音室、多媒体教学设备、计算机网络系统;有设施良好的公寓式学生宿舍、食堂、标准体育运动场;图书馆藏书30多万册,各类中外期刊、电子期刊400余种,建有专用电子阅览室,4个阅览室可供1000多人同时阅览。学院现设8个系、部,29个专业,各类在校生11600余人。学院坚持“以质量求生存,以特色求发展”的办学方针,始终以“专家治校、名师执教”为立校之本。学院拥有一支忠诚党的教育事业、素质优良、专业配套、结构合理、整体优化的师资队伍,学院有教职工478人,专任教师234人,外籍教师2人,兼职教师81人,外聘教师36人,其中研究生和在读研究生86人,有正、副教授及其他高级专业技术人员120人。学院坚持“以教学带科研,以科研促教学”的方针,教师队伍有较强的科研能力和丰硕的科研成果,出版专著、教材、工具书274部,在公开发行的刊物上发表学术论文386篇,完成省级以上科研项目48项,获国家专利2项。学院以市场为导向设置专业,准确定位培养目标,加大对学生的实际运用技能训练,使学生毕业时能获得相应的毕业证书和职业资格证书,普通话、计算机及英语等级证书。2004年,学院被河南省教育厅、省劳动和社会保障厅确定为高职院校毕业生职业资格工程培训基地。学院为毕业生设有网上求职系统,并与用人单位广泛联系,拓展就业岗位,近几年来,合格毕业生就业率达98%。2003年,学院被评为“河南省高校毕业生就业工作先进单位”。 Xuchang Vocational and Technical College is approved by the Henan Provincial People’s Government, the Ministry of Education for the record of a public full-time colleges and universities.
