Objective: To investigate the relationship between abnormal activation of Hedgehog (Hh) signaling pathway in human epithelial ovarian cancer and the clinicopathological features of ovarian cancer. Methods: Immunohistochemical technique was used to detect the expression of Gli2 protein in 65 cases of ovarian cancer and its relationship with the clinicopathological features of ovarian cancer was analyzed. Results: There was no significant difference in the expression of Gli2 protein between the expression of Gli2 and age, histological type, differentiation and lymph node metastasis (P> 0.05). The protein expression of Gli2 was correlated with the clinicopathological stage of ovarian cancer The incidence of Gli2 protein in patients with advanced stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ ovarian cancer was significantly higher than that in patients with stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ ovarian cancer (P <0.05). CONCLUSION: The expression level of Gli2, an important component of Hh signaling pathway, is closely related to the clinicopathological stage of ovarian cancer. The more advanced ovarian cancer patients, the higher the incidence of Gli2 overexpression, and the possible involvement of Hh signaling pathway in ovarian cancer It is abnormally activated.
